School Day
School opens at 8:35am. Our school day runs from 8:45am to 3:15pm.
Registration is at 8:55am. Any children arriving after this time will be marked as late. Any children arriving after 9:25am will have an unauthorised mark recorded.
The total hours school is open for is 32.5 hours per week.

School Uniform
School uniform can be purchased from most major supermarkets. Branded items (containing the Hemington School logo) can be purchased from either of the two following suppliers:

Medicines
If your child needs to take medication during the school day, a medicine form must be completed and any medication that may be required should be brought to the school office. All medication must be named. Forms are available from your child’s class teacher and the school office.  See our attached medical policy.

Allergies in School
At our school, the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils is a priority. We recognise that some children have allergies that may put them at risk of serious reactions, including anaphylaxis.
We work closely with parents, carers and healthcare professionals to ensure that pupils with allergies are supported safely and can fully participate in school life. Individual healthcare plans are developed where appropriate, and staff receive training in recognising and responding to allergic reactions.

How We Support Pupils with Allergies
Maintaining up-to-date medical information for pupils with allergies.
Developing Individual Healthcare Plans where required.
Training staff to recognise symptoms of allergic reactions and administer emergency medication.
Ensuring emergency medication, such as adrenaline auto-injectors (e.g. EpiPens), is accessible when needed.
Encouraging good hygiene practices, including handwashing before and after meals.
Risk assessing school activities, trips and events to ensure pupils with allergies can participate safely.

Parents and Carers
We ask parents and carers to:
Inform the school of any allergies or medical conditions as soon as possible.
Provide prescribed medication and ensure it is within its expiry date.
Update the school immediately if there are any changes to their child's medical needs.
Work with the school to develop and review healthcare plans.
Allergy-Aware Environment: While we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment, we take reasonable steps to minimise risks and promote awareness throughout the school community. We ask everyone to be considerate of pupils with severe allergies and to support measures that help keep all children safe.
