Here at Hemington Primary School we are committed to developing and safeguarding pupil’s emotional wellbeing and promoting good physical and mental health. ELSA We have a dedicated member of our team who is trained in expertly delivering Elsa programmes. Mrs White carries out social skills, confidence building and emotions work using Elsa with years Reception to Year 6. This work is carried out in small groups or on a 1 to 1. Each class also has a worry monster which enables them to alert staff that they feel worried and need to chat. All they do is pop their name into the monster and we know they need to talk.

Lego time- developing communication and listening skills
We recognise that some children find the busy playground difficult and overwhelming. Our lunch team also offers social skills, Lego time, crafts and small group sports for these children at dinners.
